It was only a matter of weeks from our official launch and our final garments had just arrived. It was so exciting to see the concept, designs and ideas finally come to fruition. In a tropical climate such as Fiji you can never predict the weather from day to day. For the last four weeks the clouds have been rolling in and ultimately bringing heavy, yet warm and wet conditions – not ideal for a photo-shoot. However, on the day of the shoot the sun was beaming from 7am and we knew someone was looking out for us today. The sun really brought out the vibrant colour of our Coral Reef line and the garments looked fantastic!

The location for our shoot was the Pearl Resort Fiji, located on the Queens Highway at Pacific Harbour. This resort is a favourite get-away for many expats, local Fijians and tourists. On this particular day we were fortunate to be at the resort as a band was playing, and with the music drifting through the palm trees and the sun beating down we couldn’t have asked for a better spot to showcase the very best of Fiji.

Our shoot took place only a stone throw away from the resort, on the beautiful golden beach. As our first line is inspired by the Coral Reef we wanted to get as close to the water as we could. Our wonderful Ambassador Sukannika was a great sports model for our shoot. The heat was intense and she dug deep and looked as amazing as ever. As a true sportswoman Sukannika was in her element any time we needed her to perform an active or sports-related pose. Her main sport is beach volleyball and wow does she have a mean “smash” on her. Her shots were that hard that they managed to knock one of our lighting technicians off their feet. We were lucky enough to have Fotofusion, one of the most respected and professional photography companies in Fiji join us on our photoshoot. Their experience and creative eye really helped us bring our vision for Bulalicious alive. We wanted to focus on a photo-shoot that was true to everything we believe in, promoting all the very best of Fiji.
